As humans, we have always craved for a long, healthy, strong and vibrant life. It is often said that what we eat
determines our state of health, and that is a true statement. In a busy world
like ours, we barely have time to feed ourselves not to mention of taking a meal that contains the essential
nutrients the body needs to stay healthy and strong. Most times we throw caution to the winds about what we eat and get an unusual satisfaction from the belief that the body will take care of itself whatever be the case. True it does but if the habit is left unchecked the body will eventually wear out and then organ failure and strange illnesses follow suit.
Essentially, the state of
your health could be attributed to numerous issues but here I will highlight two (2) major practices.
NUTRITIONAL PRACTICE: Ask
anybody out there what a balanced diet is and you will be marveled at
the responses that will follow; people have different theories of a
balanced diet and they often stick to their practice jealously whether they are right or wrong. In fact it is usually a subject
of argument for most people.
In the end, we eventually eat
our version of a Balanced Diet and the body takes the nutrients available to
it. But is our meal indeed balanced?
A balanced meal is that meal
that has all the nutrients your body requires in the right proportion and in
the right state.
A balanced meal should give
us up to 90 nutrients daily which comprises of 59 minerals,16 vitamins,12 amino
acids and 3 essential fatty acid as recommended by Nutritionists.
However you will agree with
me that we prefer the taste of our food most times to its nutritional values. Even though we have abundant natural sources of these nutrients
we tend to cook our food in a way that destroys most of the nutrient our body
needs before we eventually consume them.
For instance we overheat our food when we fry our fresh tomatoes dry while making stew. We fry to get rid of the
sour taste in it but we are actually getting rid of a powerful
antioxidant called lycopene which is beneficial to us.
Again many varieties of
frozen chicken including frozen chicken patties, nuggets and tenders fall under
the category of processed meats and should only be consumed occasionally, as a
treat. Diets that include lots of processed meats are linked to a higher risk
of Type 2 diabetes, as well as heart diseases. In order to preserve these
chicken, they are pumped with toxic chemicals which maybe harmful to our body
system.
People spend a lot of money
buying vegetables oils with low cholesterol and Zero trans fat but the truth is
we end up regenerating and building up this trans fat whenever we reheat a used
oil to fry again.
For instance if you fry your
chicken today with a low cholesterol vegetable oil, then reheat the same oil
tomorrow to fry plantain the following day. That oil is already loaded with trans fats and
cholesterol from the chicken or beef fried previously.
Also as we get rid
of sands and dirt in our green leaves by washing them many rounds, we also wash off most of the essential substances our body needs to stay healthy and sound.
DRUG PRACTICE: The
quantity of drugs we consume expose us to loads of side effects which we
actually see on the leaflets inside the drug packs we buy. Some of these side effects include drowsiness, headaches, nausea, vomiting etc.
It might surprise you that most times these drugs handle that immediate symptoms of a particular illness without treating the underlying cause of the illness. That is the obvious reason why these symptoms come back after a short time.
According to Health Journals,
many patients die each year as a result of unnecessary surgery, wrong
prescription of drugs, diseases people contacted in Hospitals, acts of
carelessness from some medical personnel, etc.
We really don't have to wait to fall
sick and watch our lives being experimented on.
We don't have to wait for the
doctors to give up on us or our loved ones.
When you weigh the benefits of these drugs with their side effects you will agree with me that PREVENTION ( MAINTAINING AN OPTIMUM HEALTHY SYSTEM) is way cheaper and better than cure which has prompted people to move from CURATIVE MEASURES to PREVENTIVE MEASURES.
I urge people I
come across to embrace a Nutritional supplement that will supply and enrich the body with all the nutrients that we don't get from the food we eat.
There are a handful of good
food supplements to choose from out there.
Personally, I don't recommend
my clients taking food supplements in Tablets and Capsules because they often undergo
the same chemical reaction we avoid while taking our regular medication.
WHO says that our body needs
at least 4500 ORAC score daily for optimum performance. ORAC stands for Oxygen
Radical Absorbance Capacity which helps us to mop out the effect of free
radicals which we are exposed to daily from the carbon emission of vehicles,
smoking etc which can lead to cancer growth and other illnesses over time if not checked.
Who needs Food supplements
and Why?
Everyone needs to experience
the power of wellness for so many reasons.
1. Our life expectancy in
Nigeria is awfully poor at 46 years for men and 48 years for women compared to Japan and the United States at 106 years and 86 respectively.
A documentary showed by CNN
reported that in Okinawa, Japan, some women at 90 years still manage to climb
trees and engage in Marathon etc. Research has attributed this unusual strong
health to CORAL CALCIUM present in the bedrock of the water flowing in this
location. So the water they drink, cook with from childhood contains Coral calcium
and this is the secrets of their strong bones.
Books have actually been
published such as "The Okinawa Program", "The Okinawa Diet
Plan" just to depict the amazing abilities of Coral calcium.
2. For optimum healthy system
which holds the secrets to wellness.
3. To boost our immune system
since it starts depreciating as we age (from age 20 our
Glutharione level depletes).
Nigerians would quickly
rebuff any advise to take supplements and say "I don't need food
supplements, I could just eat fruits and vegetables daily".
Many have imbibed the culture
of making smoothies which is also a very healthy living. But let's be honest,
how many fruits can you consume in a day in their right proportions as your
body demands? How many delicacies can actually accommodate our vegetables?
How consistent will you
consume these vegetables and fruits to meet up with what the body demands?
Do you have access to some
exotic fruits like Noni juice, korean ginseng, borojo, mangosteen etc?
The plain truth is that we
cannot adequately feed ourselves with all the nutrients we need. That is why it
is best health practice to take food supplements which will provide your daily
nutritional needs with very little effort on your part.
There are some powerful food
supplements like Vemma, Genesis, Trévo etc. you can walk into any pharmacy to
